Puppy Supplies

I have a 3 month old chihuahua mix puppy. In my living room her have her a pen set up with has her potty pads, toys, food water and puppy house bed in it. In the day she usually cries a little bit when i put her in there but then usually naps. She is never left in her pen during the day for more than 2 hours. The real problem is in the morning when she’s ready to get out and get attention she cries so loud, loud enough to wake me up. Sometimes she will howl. And when i go to check on her there is nothing wrong with her she just wants attention. She has everything she needs in her pen so its not like she’s hungry or had to potty. i try to ignore it if i can but i have roommates and neighbors in my apartment building so i want to try to keep her quiet. i really dont know what to do. please help
